AND THE WINNER IS!
On September 4th the winning ticket was pulled and, over the fire truck loudspeaker, it was announced that Charlie Parker won the 14th Annual CASA for Kids Playhouse Raffle! Kristin Bishay, Executive Director, expressed her gratitude to all those who purchased tickets to support Monroe County CASA. "This has been one of the most successful Playhouse fundraisers we have ever had! Nearly 400 children were appointed to CASA last year and support from this community helps us to serve as many of these children as possible". Parker has decided to donate the monkey-themed playhouse to the Monroe County YMCA so countless children will be able to enjoy it for years to come.
Monroe County CASA thanks Steve Carmichael and all the members of the Bloomington Metropolitan Firefighters Union Local 586 for building the playhouse for the 11th year in a row, as well as Tim Murphy (Picasso Moon Painting) who created and painted the murals, and the staff from the Monroe County Prosecutor.s office who spent their day priming the playhouse. Additional thanks to this year.s playhouse sponsors, including Platinum Sponsors: Circle-Prosco, John Bethell Title Company, and Electronic Communication Systems. This was truly a community project, raising over $23,000 to advocate for children in the court system due to abuse and neglect.
